Today we attended the 9:00 AM Mass at our parish, Sacred Heart church in Punta Gorda where I made small offerings to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions. Prior to receiving the body and blood of Jesus through the sacrament of Holy Communion, I made an Act of Contrition The priest had a special homily on loving Jesus, which seemed to just carry forward from Jesus’ message of last week. And the choir sang “I really love Jesus.”
After receiving Jesus’ body and blood, I knelt in silent commune with Him. Giving Him thanks and praise once again for all His many blessings and graces upon myself and my entire family, I then prayed; “Speak Lord if it be Your will, Your servant listens.”
Jesus replied to my prayer with the following message for us: “My child Eileen, the world and My people were created out of My desire to be surrounded by love. It was for the love of My people that I gave Myself up to be persecuted and nailed to the cross. The depth and intensity and loyalty of the love I receive from My people can never be out-weighed by My response to that love. For I will pour out love and mercy around the world in response to the measure of love received.
My children, your faith is a direct reflection of your love for Me. With faith you are capable of miracles! Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.”
Note: This weeks homily as well as the message from last week’s seems to continue on into this week. Jesus wants us to love Him more. Not as a far- away untouchable creator , but as our God, our companion, our guardian and our all!
