Today we attended the 9:00 AM Mass at our parish Sacred Heart, where I made small offerings to Jesus and Mary and prayed for all with special needs and intentions. After making an Act of Contrition, I received the most precious body and blood of Christ in the sacrament of Holy Communion.
On my knees, I communed with Jesus, thanking Him for His many blessings and graces upon myself and my family and prayed for Jesus to teach me how to practice love, mercy and forgiveness!
Then I asked of Jesus; “speak Lord, (only and always if it be His will) Your servant listens.”
Jesus responded with these words for us:
“My child Eileen, when one of My children dies for me, the heavens open up and a golden staircase descends to them. It is not necessary that one must become a martyr and die for My sake. Yet I tell you truly, to die to Me is to die to the world. For you will be welcomed into paradise even before the world claims you as dead. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.”
Note: Jesus’ words today were so beautiful as many of us question the strength of our faith at the hands of a potential terrorist! Yet Jesus tells us all we need to do to climb His golden stairway to heaven is to die to the world and not forsake Him. We see every day how tempting it might be to cherish or cling to the material world, the temptation!
Let us pray this week to keep our eyes on Jesus and our hearts open to hear His whisper.
