Today at the 9:00 AM Mass at our parish, Sacred Heart Catholic church, I prayed for those with special needs and intentions. After making small offerings to Jesus and Mary, I made an Act of Contrition in preparation of receiving the most sacred Host, the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
On my knees as the body and blood of Jesus entered into my body and soul, I communed with Him. Giving thanks for all His many graces and blessing upon myself and my entire family, I affirmed my continuing adoration and asked Jesus to keep me close to His Sacred Heart.
Then I prayed these words; “Speak Lord, Your servant listens (always and only of course, if it be His will). Jesus responded with these words for us:
“My child Eileen, My arms reach around and across the world in protection for those that are My children. Many are the prayers that reach My ears praying for protection from danger and evil forces. Yet I tell you truly; My concern is for the protection of your soul. For the body is the temporary housing of the soul.
Pray for protection of the soul so that on your final day you will be lifted up into paradise where you will then live forever. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters. Amen.”
This message from Jesus of today seems to very much follow His words of last week. We have been told “To wear the world like a loose garment, one that we can readily and easily shrug off our shoulders.”
I am guilty of very often praying for health and finding myself more attached to the world more than I would like to be. This will be my future daily prayer, to focus on my soul, rather than my physical being.
